About Our Residency Programs

Residency ProgramsLehigh Valley Health Network welcomes you! We are eager to offer you the opportunity to learn at one of Pennsylvania's largest teaching hospitals. Graduate medical education is a valued tradition which began more than a half-century ago at our hospital. All of the residency programs, which include trauma, family medicine, obstetrics-gynecology, internal medicine, and surgery, emphasize academic rather than service orientation.

Lehigh Valley Health Network offers the unique benefits of residency training in both a community hospital and a regional referral center. The network's high patient volume (47,300 yearly admissions), dedicated teaching attendings, and diversity of clinical services create an outstanding environment for graduate medical education.

Alone and in cooperation with other area hospitals and organizations, the network provides comprehensive disease prevention, wellness promotion, health education and support service programs for the Lehigh Valley and its surrounding communities.

Lehigh Valley Health Network is a clinical campus of Penn State University's College of Medicine at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and our physicians and staff are committed to developing the talents and expertise of the future generations of physicians. Creativity, innovation, self-reflection and service are all attributes which make the practice of medicine better. These attributes are integral parts of our culture.
